today I fell in love
not the stuff to rock a marriage
or smooth the skin
with hope
or flushes cheek
or sucks in lazy belly
or lasts beyond the kindest
word remembered
but catches in the throat
and shifts for some small moment

You don’t need to be forgiven for just a tiny tiny spec. It might have been a little something that was for-given to you. These things tell us we are alive…to be confessed as innocently as the act itself. xx
Nice poem.
Love comes in all forms.
I write poetry too
Check out my poetry blog http://sparklingoracle.blogspot.com
The creative juices flow from all sources and in all directions - I love the poem, no form, just flowing thoughts from the mind and soul!
BRAVA!
Very nice. I liked the
“lasts beyond the kindest
word remembered”
reminded me of ee cummings, which is a good thing.
Nice blog - heard about it in the paper over the weekend and it was a happy discovery.
Oh Alison! Naughty gal…we have been out of touch for far too long! I was thinking the other day about the night we strolled down Broadway in NYC and you bought me an ice cream…we had just eaten dinner with a bunch of Columbia/Sony people and we were all walking you back to your hotel. At the time of the thought it seemed like yesterday…and then I realized…that was 15 years ago! I hope all is well with you and your family…I think of you quite often. We’ll meet again someday, I’m sure of it. Sending warm thoughts your way…. Oh, and I still have the empty box of Valentine candy with your inscription inside…”to my American Valentine”…1992.
Hi! I suppose it’s only polite to introduce myself! I’m Lucy Williams, 24 years old from Milton Keynes and I wanted to drop by and thank you for your outstanding performance at The Stables in Milton Keynes on Sunday evening. The songs from your new album were breathtaking and I’m very much looking forward to getting myself a copy. I loved every single song and the french song you sang in the encoure was so beautiful I felt like I was floating off my seat! Your band were amazing and from one piano player to another the man that was playing the piano for you was fantastic! I was very impressed that they managed to perform an amazing set before you came on, particuarly under pressure when they did not know they were going to have to do it! Five stars from me and I wish you a lot of success with your new album.
not acomment to the post, but just a note to say i got the CD today and am totally enjoying it. it is pure enjoyment, a perfect step in your carreer….thank you………
Hello, Allison. I was very surprise to find your photos and the news about you today. My name is Eloisa. I was listening to you in 1982 83, then I stopped. Today I had time enough to search news about you and I feel very happy. Thank you for all. Ciao
I’ve recently had this same experience…!!
